Power Remains Off For Many Northern SK Residents

Residents in a large swath of Northern Saskatchewan remain without power after a wildfire north-east of Prince Albert, damaged main transmission lines to the north.

The outage includes Waskesiu, Meath Park, Paddockwood, La Ronge, Stanley Mission, and all surrounding rural areas. SaskPower says crews have restored power to some customers but continued danger from the wildfire is preventing crews from making the necessary repairs to restore power to most of our customers.

SaskPower is advising customers they could be without power for the next one to three days.
